Royal Opening of Highland Museum of Childhood
16 September 2010

On 23rd September 2010, HRH Prince Edward will be opening 'The Goods Shed', a long-awaited expansion for the Highland Museum of Childhood, which is housed in the Old Railway Station at Strathpeffer in the Scottish Highlands.   Verity worked on the project back in the early 2000s, supporting its industrious curator Jennifer Maxwell along the long and arduous road towards HLF funding.

En route we uncovered an old map that showed there had been a railway goods shed on precisely the footing of the new building - that helped us secure planning, and so many years later, it's heartening to see the new building arise under the same name.

The new 'Goods Shed' will be used as a conservation store, an education base and exhibition space.
