About Interpretaction

Interpretaction is an associates-based network of interpretation professionals located across the UK and in Europe. It was established by Verity Walker in 1999 after a 20+ year career in museums and heritage organisations. We can offer:

  • interpretive projects which combine audio and imagery
  • planning, writing and implementing interpretation projects
  • evaluation and audit of existing interpretive sites/structures/projects
  • development of live interpretation
  • tailor-made training programmes for staff or volunteers
  • devising of artistic and poetic interpretive projects and techniques
  • interpretive song-writing
  • research into the efficacy of different interpretive methods
  • heritage education planning
  • INSET days for teachers and heritage education staff/volunteers

Based on the Black Isle just north of Inverness in the Scottish Highlands, Verity also has a base in Cippenham near London, and works throughout Europe and the UK, hand-picking appropriate teams of experienced associates for each project (see People page).

Verity is a full member of the Association for Heritage Interpretation, a member of the Group for Education in Museums and the Museums Association, and was a voluntary director of the International Museums Theatre Alliance for 7 years (2000 - 2007).
