Dalwhinnie Voices Project

Dalwhinnie is one of the most remote and highest communities in the Scottish Highlands.  About 100 people live, work or go to school there, but thousands more pass through every year as they head north, south or west.

Thanks to funding from Cairngorms National Park Authority and Highland Leader, local people will be having the chance to take part in reminiscence and community photograph sessions, local children and adults will have the opportunity to take part in art workshops relating to the creation of a community map.  Look out for the logo above on letters and surveys popping through the door this summer.

If you live in Dalwhinnie, keep your eye on this webpage which will have dates and times of the next events posted as soon as they have been agreed.

If you don't, and you have a good Dalwhinnie story to tell, we'd like to hear from you.  Maybe you've been stranded in the snow and Dalwhinnie folk gave you a bed.  Maybe you've pulled in there every week for the past thirty years!  Maybe you love stopping for a family picnic here on your way up to see Granny in Inverness.   Or maybe, for you Dalwhinnie is, quite literally, in the middle of nowhere!

Please use the 'contact us here' section of our website menu to give us a brief outline of your story (no more than 50 words please).  Please tell us who you are, how frequently you visit Dalwhinnie and provide a phone number as well as your e-mail address.  We will respond to all messages sent and may invite some to have their stories professionally recorded.

We look forward to hearing from you!
