EVALUATION RESEARCH - get involved!

Wouldn't it be great to be able to get instant visitor feedback from the middle of nowhere? Well, read on...
Since 2007 Verity Walker and data-processing specialist associate Sarah Eley have been working on an interpretive evaluation method which works especially well in unstaffed and open air sites. It is incredibly low-cost and uses mobile phone technology with a particular way of asking questions, producing a coded response which can be unscrambled into meaningful data very simply.
It's a good technique for basic surveying - i.e. asking one question like 'do we need a signpost here?' - but also more complex surveys too, and doesn't rely on people returning to use a computer before completing a survey, a weakness with many non-paper approaches.
We have used this method successfully at countryside sites and are now piloting it in an urban context.
We've spent quite some time working out the strengths and weaknesses of the approach but would like to work with other organisations in different contexts to test it more effectively - evaluating the evaluative method, if you like. So if you'd be interested in trialling the technique (not necessarily under contract), please just get in touch with the team using the 'contact us' page of this site.
Thanks!
